Buyer - Basingstoke, Hampshire Our client is a rapidly expanding and profitable business with a turnover in excess of £160m executing Highways Term Maintenance contracts on motorways, trunk*county roads and various civil engineering work throughout England. Reporting to the Head of Procurement, we now have an opportunity for a Buyer to join the Supply Chain Management team, based in Basingstoke, Hampshire. You will be required to provide a complete procurement service for the company’s contracts involving the purchasing of materials*goods at best value and ensuring they are delivered on time. You will also be required to improve and maintain an excellent supply chain. A clean driving license is essential as you will be required to visit contracts on a regular basis to discuss any problems encountered with the provision of suppliers*materials. Candidates for this role must be computer literate and enjoy working in a fast paced environment and be willing to lead initiatives with the aim to show continuous improvements for the business. Previous experience in purchasing department is essential and a team player.
